City Council Votes to move City Elections to Even Numbered Years

The City Council unanimously voted to move the City Council  elections to even numbered years, and thereby decided to extend their terms on the City Council for an additional year. Such action should require voter approval. The stated reason for the change is to save money, and there is also more voter turnout in even years A post card will be sent to voters to make them aware.  The video below shows the Council adoption of the first reading of the ordinance to make the change.

 The next City Council Election will not occur until November 2014.
